The impressive RAV4 is versatile, comfortable, and roomy enough for a small third-row seat. The four-cylinder version gets 23 mpg, the best of any nonhybrid SUV we've tested.

Redesigned for 2007, the much-improved Santa Fe edged out the Honda Pilot in our tests. It provides a quiet and roomy interior, excellent fit and finish, a refined powertrain, a relatively good ride, and an optional third-row seat. Standard ESC helps provide secure handling.

Best Minivan

Toyota Sienna
The Sienna is our pick for the second year in a row. Its spacious, quiet, and refined interior is on par with some luxury sedans. And its V6 engine is powerful and fuel efficient. It is also the only minivan available with all-wheel drive. Price: $24, 000 to $37, 000. The Honda Odyssey, on the other hand, is more agile and, dare we say, fun to drive for a minivan.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab
The redesigned Silverado is considerably improved. It achieves a nice balance between work attributes and livability, including a generous payload rating, a comfortable ride, improved interior quality and steering feel, and easy access. Is it legal for an automobile dealer to collect personal information for credit? (Answers: 9) (Comments: 0)

A few weeks ago, I submitted a credit application online at a local dealerships website. I filled it in completely. I waited to hear from the dealer, yes or no on financing. They contacted me and told me I had to come to the dealership. They would not say yes or no to financing, and I have not received a notice of denial by mail. I don't think they even ran a credit check. Is it legal for them to collect all my personal information, and then not use it for the intended purpose?

Should the automobile dealer share some responsibility for my engine problem? (Answers: 2) (Comments: 0)

My vehicle was at the dealership for a water pump replacement. During this process it was discovered that the belt tensioner was rubbing against the timing belt cover and was replaced to alleviate the problem. The odometer reading was 134,000 miles. A few months later at 137,000 miles the engine seized up. According to the dealer a pulley, I am not sure which one, came came loose cutting into the timing belt cover creating a loss of oil and engine seizure. Do I have a case?

Has anyone filed a formal complaint because of excessive credit inquiries by an automobile dealer? (Answers: 1) (Comments: 0)

When attempting to purchase a used vehicle, the dealer owning the car indiscriminately queried over 10 banks to find a lender willing to loan on a car with excessive mileage. The net result is a sudden plunge in my FICO score.
